Domain names serve as names for Internet resources such as for computers, networks and services. A domain name represents an Internet Protocol (IP) resource. Individual Internet host computers use domain names as host identifiers, or host names. Host names are the leaf labels in the domain name system usually without further subordinate domain name space. Host names appear as a component in Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) for Internet resources, such as websites.
HUYI Global Domain Registration
HUYI Global is accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
ICANN charged with overseeing the name and number systems of the Internet. In addition to ICANN, each top-level domain (TLD) is maintained and serviced technically by an administrative organization operating a registry.
A registry is responsible for maintaining the database of names registered within the TLD it administers. The registry receives domain registration information from each domain name registrar authorized to assign names in the corresponding TLD and publishes the information using a special service; the WHOIS protocol.
The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) is a department of ICANN, a nonprofit private American corporation that oversees global IP address allocation, autonomous system number allocation, root zone management in the Domain Name System (DNS), media types, and other Internet protocol-related symbols and numbers.
Generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) Names
A generic top-level domain (gTLD) is one of the categories of top-level domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the Domain Name System of the Internet. It is visible to Internet users as the suffix at the end of a domain name.
The core group of generic top-level domains consists of the com, info, net, and org domains. In addition, the domains biz, name, and pro are also considered generic. However, these are designated as restricted, because domain registrations within these require proof of eligibility within the guidelines set for each.
